Four Peregrine preschool teachers made very successful presentations at the California Association for the Education of Young Children conference in Pasadena from April 19-21, 2018.
Gaby Cortez, Associate Director, and Yi Che, head teacher of the Pandas Chinese Immersion preschool, kept an audience of seventy five teachers singing and dancing with their presentation on how to teach languages through music, movement, and games. Their presentation featured both Spanish and Chinese songs and games.
Tanya Kumar and Mariah Hess presented a hands on workshop about the Art of Science and the Science of Art, which illustrated how these two subjects can be taught as connected units at the preschool level. Participants tried out a variety of activities as varied as prisms and color mixing, vegetable dissection and printing, and study and arrangement of natural objects.
We are proud of our teachers for presenting what Peregrine School does to a wider audience, and will also share these same presentations at our August professional development sessions so that all of our teachers can also benefit from their expertise.
