Sixteen Peregrine 3-6 graders performed with 2000 regional music students at the Sacramento Convention Center Auditorium on Friday, April 27. Our students arrived with recorders in hand to join students from many other schools, including Montgomery and Saint James from Davis. All of them had been studying the same music scores for singing and recorder for several months. Our students were led by Nicole Chin, who has taught them all to play the recorder.

The Link Up concert that we participated in features the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera Orchestra, the Sacramento Children's Choir, and professional singers who lead all the students in the audience in singing and playing the pieces they learned, while also experiencing a demonstration of how a big orchestra works. The hour long program was very exciting for students and attending parents.

After picnicking in Capital Park, our students also got a second extemporaneous field trip to the Capital, where they saw the dome, the Governor's office, the assembly chambers, and the county dioramas.

We are very proud of our students for working on their music and participating in this public event.
