DEVELOPMENTAL
ART SHOW
We are excited to announce that although we cannot have our annual Halloween Arts Festival, we are still hosting our children's art show online! Every year, we ask all of our students, ages 18 months to 12 years, to respond to the same prompt through art and artist statements. The resulting art show illustrates the developmental changes that occur throughout childhood and gives students the opportunity to express their own feelings about the prompt.
The question which children will respond to this year is simple: "What do you like about school?", because we feel that this year it is important to remember why we strive to provide the educational opportunities and environment we do for our students.
Please scroll through the galleries and select an image to get a larger view of any of the pieces. We encourage community involvement in these art shows, so please feel free to leave comments down below or share this on social media!

My process was I first sketched out my design, Then I outlined it in sharpie, I then with watercolors painted the whole horizon in a sunset. Then colored the ground with a root color, Then lastly colored the tree. The materials I used are Watercolors, Sharpies and pencil.”
“For this art piece, I depicted the school vegetable garden. I like the garden program because I don’t think that many kids who go to other schools have this opportunity, and I like gardening. I especially like that the kids get to have their own garden businesses. We can grow things in our garden bed and sell them at farmers markets. It was sort of hard to paint the dirt because I kept having either too much or not enough water on my brush. The dirt is darker in some spots but I sort of like th
